The royals shared a traditional recipe for the holidays, and you don’t want to miss it to make at home: Christmas pudding. Traditionally, it is prepared in a “stir up Sunday”, which in Spanish would be like “Sunday of jumble”, a mixture that is cooked on the Sunday before Advent (which begins on Sunday, November 29). Advent is the countdown to Christmas, so the pudding is prepared before so that the mixture is ready to take out and eat.

This recipe makes 1kg of mix.
- 250g of raisins
- 250g of currants
- 185g of sultanas
- 150g of mixed peel
- 250g of tallow (or vegetarian tallow)
- 250g of bread crumbs
- 90g of flour
- 12g of mixed spices
- 2 whole eggs
- 180g of natural brown sugar
- 275ml of beer
- 40ml of dark rum
- 40ml brandy
If you don’t want to use alcohol, you can substitute orange juice or iced tea.
1. Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and beat them until everything is incorporated.
2. Add the eggs and liquids to that mixture. Then incorporate it all.
3. Grease the molds where you will pour the mixture. To these add the mixture and press the bottom. It is recommended to divide the mixture into two halves for two molds.
4. With wax paper (parchment paper), make a circle that covers the mixture in the mold and cover it well.
5. Cover the molds with muslin or aluminum foil and place the molds in a deep saucepan.
6. When you have added both molds to the saucepan, fill it with 3/4 of the water. When ready, cover everything with aluminum foil.
7. Let stand in steam for 6 hours. You can fill it with water if necessary. 8. Once done, wrap the pudding very well and keep it in a cool, dry and dark place to take out until Christmas.
